About Tracy Richardson
I grew up on a farm in rural Indiana listening to the music of the Carpenters, the Eagles, Helen Reddy, BJ Thomas, Patsy Cline, Ronnie Milsap, the Bee Gees, Carole King, Elton John, the Beatles, James Taylor…and a lot more. I love music with great harmonies and, of course, prominent keyboard parts! Mom and Dad got me a Kimball upright piano when I was 9. I started lessons and started writing immediately. I joined a bar band at age 15. Now I’ve been performing throughout the Midwest for over 30 years.
I’ve opened for major artists including George Strait, Randy Travis, John Conlee, the Bellamy Brothers, Keith Whitley, Earl Thomas Conley and Little Anthony. My original music can be heard on local radio stations and in the TV show Gear Heads. In 2016, I was inducted into the Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame, currently serves on its Board of Directors, and coordinate the Terre Haute Songwriters’ Circle.
Much of the time, I’m cleverly disguised as Dr. Tracy Richardson, a board-certified music therapist, a Professor of Music Therapy and Chairperson of the Department of Music and Theatre at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College
I’ve also authored a book for aspiring Superwomen entitled “Who Moved My Cape?! Letting Go of Your Superwoman Expectations.”
